The Challenge
To renovate the landmarked Shangri-La Hotel, while preserving the spirit and integrity of the building. The renovations would add a courtyard patio, complete seismic upgrade, rooftop lounge and a pool atop an existing parking structure.
The Insight
We have extensive experience in the hospitality industry as well as specializing in structural engineering, value engineering and cost efficiency. From years of experience in complex California-based projects we were well aware that as a landmarked building there would be a significant increase in red tape and necessary precautions.
The Results
The renovation was a success, delivered on budget, while keeping the integrity of the hotel's character intact. Each guest-room now offers ocean views, and with the new elevated pool, the luxurious courtyard provides guests an unforgettable vacation experience.
