Bassam Tarazi

Director of Operations, LEED AP BD + C, Carbon Reduction Manager

Bassam believes that his generation’s problem to solve is the world’s transition to cleaner forms of energy, and he is striving in all aspects of his life to be part of the solution. “We have lived gloriously in the west since the mid 20th century,” he says, “but that’s been at the expense of the planet and future generations.  I think it’s time we bring things back to center.” With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from RPI, LEED AP and Carbon Reduction Management Certification, as well as a Green MBA from San Francisco Institute of Architecture, Bassam is armed for the fight.

In his current role as Director of Operations for Omnibuild, Bassam is able to put all of that theoretical knowledge to practice. He has a wide variety of experiences and interests to bring to the table, beginning his career as a Civilian Nuclear Engineer for the U.S. Navy in Pearl Harbor, where he worked on mechanical systems in the reactor plants of Los Angeles class submarines. While working on mult-million dollar LEED projects, and conducting full-scale energy/carbon audits for large financial firms and entertainment companies, Bassam also volunteers for charity:water, an organization dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to developing countries, and pursues his passion for traveling - having visited 40 countries throughout his life. Bassam is a man who has seen much of the world and knows exactly what it is he’s fighting for.
