Chuck Gerlach

LEED AP, NYC DOB Construction Superintendent, NYU certificate in
Construction Project Management

Chuck has spent the last 2 decades working his way through the all aspect of the construction world. Now a Senior Project Manager for Omnibuild, and LEED AP, Chuck oversees projects from inception to close out - managing subcontractors, labor, and daily operations. He defines his role as someone who has his hand in all aspects of a project, and relishes the problem solving and diversity of tasks which he encounters daily. Not surprising for a man who is also a golf pro, a world-traveler, a father of two, and one of the first 150 people to skydive onto the North Pole.

Chuck studied business administration at Ohio State University and the University of Maryland, and also has a certificate in Construction Project Management from the NYU School of Continuing & Professional Studies. His experiences range from carpentry contracts to complete hospitality renovation, and he has worked in well-known restaurants, lounges and hotels including Harry Cipriani, SAPA & Quality Meats, and La Socialista - which was a complete renovation of a bi-level restaurant in the style of 1940’s Cuba. Chuck was also a project manager and site supervisor on projects that were funded through the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Chuck was operating under guaranteed maximum price no change order contracts with tight time lines and multiple site running simultaneously.

The key to success he says is keeping the client informed and extinguishing small problems before they get bigger. “Don’t spend your day putting out fires, prevent them,” he says. Chuck is fueled by the satisfaction of finishing something tangible - to be able to bring his daughters to see a building he helped create is a joy that does not fade.
